Sepideh Setayeshfar
Sepideh Setayeshfar is the Vice Chair of SOLACE and the director of technology. She lives in San Francisco and is an executive in the tech industry.
During the birth of her daughter in January 2021, Sepideh experienced lack of informed consent. Forceps were used by an obstetrician without extensive knowledge in their proper use. This resulted in her sustaining a severe birth injury. The experience and the pain that she and her family went through, made it her mission to inform those around her of maternity risks such as improper informed consent. Women, who have sustained severe injuries, often leave the maternity units in shock and without proper education, follow up, or support. Currently it is difficult to seek justice through the judicial and medical systems, however, Sepideh hopes to advocate for change. Through SOLACE she hopes to take her efforts in informing, protecting, and supporting women many steps further than her close circle.
